CREATING A FAERIE LAND

Everything Faerie will be explored during this course, as students create their own faerie gardens with wee faeries to play in them.  This will be accompanied by drawing exercises that incorporate sketching faeries in various settings, both form real life observation and other illustrations.

PAINT, PASTEL & CLAY

Explore the "formal" elements of art in an informal manner. Use a wonderful variety of art materials. Charcoal, pastel, colored pencil, oil pastel, paint, monoprint, clay. For the kid who wants it all!

BASIC CARTOONING and ANIMATION

Beginning with basics: character drawings, storytelling, exaggeration and expression, then explore story ideas to make simple three panel comics. Learn about comic book page design and create your own story. If we are adventurous, we will dive into a full comic book design, cover to cover. Bring your creative juices, spiral bound sketchbook to keep ideas for character development all in one spot.

SATURDAY MORNING CLAY for kids and teens

Learn to throw on the pottery wheel, experiment with handbuilding and sculpting techniques, and let yourself play with clay!  You can choose what to make and Robin will be there to help you out.  Students take home permanent glazed pieces. All of your supplies are included.

DRAWING FIGURES & FACES

Learn how to render people, likenesses, hands and feet: the really tough stuff when it comes to drawing people! Loosen up with several quick gesture drawings, then focus on longer studies of the human form. This is a necessity for the future art major’s portfolio, and great fun if you love to draw.  (Model fee included.)

FANTASY ON CANVAS

PAINTING
