Mill Art Center & Gallery The Lower Mill Open Monday - Saturday, 11:00 AM- 3:00 PM JANUARY HOURS: The Rabbit Room is closed for lunch and dinner during the month of January, however, Lower Mill Galleries, businesses, and Art Center classes will remain open. Call 585.582.1830 to schedule your event today. Located on the second floor, the Mill Art Center and Gallery hosts a unique blend of classroom studios and gallery space. The Mill Art Gallery was established in 1994 and has steadily gained it's reputation as a premier sales gallery with changing exhibitions from exceptional Western New York artists. The gallery hosts a rotating schedule of invitational, solo, and group exhibitions and is open to the public and during special celebrations. Special Events, Classes, Workshops The Mill Art Center offers classes, workshops and other special events. Children and teen classes follow the public school calendar. Mill Art Center and Gallery is a non - profit organization dedicated to the arts. Take an art class just for fun! Did you know that Honeoye Falls is home to a large group of professional artists? PAINT EXPLORERS
Does your child like to get his or her hands messy? Preschoolers’ innate curiosity will be satisfied as they discover how colors can be combined to create other colors. Various techniques will then be used as they design small and large scale paintings with strategically guided freedom. Instructor:: Leslie Stroz Thompson CREATING A FAERIE LAND Everything Faerie will be explored during this course, as students create their own faerie gardens with wee faeries to play in them. This will be accompanied by drawing exercises that incorporate sketching faeries in various settings, both form real life observation and other illustrations. Instructor:: Leslie Stroz Thompson PAINT, PASTEL & CLAY Explore the "formal" elements of art in an informal manner. Use a wonderful variety of art materials. Charcoal, pastel, colored pencil, oil pastel, paint, monoprint, clay. For the kid who wants it all! Instructor :: Debra McHargue, Betsy Taylor BASIC CARTOONING and ANIMATION Beginning with basics: character drawings, storytelling, exaggeration and expression, then explore story ideas to make simple three panel comics. Learn about comic book page design and create your own story. If we are adventurous, we will dive into a full comic book design, cover to cover. Bring your creative juices, spiral bound sketchbook to keep ideas for character development all in one spot. Instructor:: Andy Reddout SATURDAY MORNING CLAY for kids and teens Learn to throw on the pottery wheel, experiment with handbuilding and sculpting techniques, and let yourself play with clay! You can choose what to make and Robin will be there to help you out. Students take home permanent glazed pieces. All of your supplies are included. Instructor:: Robin Whiteman DRAWING FIGURES & FACES Learn how to render people, likenesses, hands and feet: the really tough stuff when it comes to drawing people! Loosen up with several quick gesture drawings, then focus on longer studies of the human form. This is a necessity for the future art major’s portfolio, and great fun if you love to draw. PAINTING Expert instruction for all levels in oil and acrylics. Students will use still life to explore color, design and composition, or they may work on their individual projects. This is an excellent class for experienced artists! Bring your canvas and painting supplies. Instructor :: Lanna Pejovic DRAWING AND BEYOND Work in a variety of media to expand your skills, and develop your personal drawing style. Whether you are a college-cound artist, or someone who has always wished you could draw or paint, individualized instruction allows you to focus on your interests.
